La Licorne HENRY
SALT Henry Salt (* Litchfield 1780 or 1785, + Cairo
1827). Trained painter at the Royal Academy visited India and North Africa. He was sent on a government mission to
establish contact with the King of Abyssinia, from 1809-1811. Later he was
appointed Consul-General to Egypt, where he financed some excavations. |
