Volume V (1985) gives an introduction to surface and groundwater development, irrigation, drainage, salinity control, land reclamation, flood control and watershed management. Indicators for the technical performance -notably in relation to agricultural and animal productivity- are given as well as the methodology for economic and financial analysis.

Volume V, Supplement 1 (1991) gives formats for the animal products, farm crops, farm unit and family income, as well as a model for computer aided financial analysis. Also the so-called 'logical framework' methodology is made operational for performance analysis.

Volume XIII (1992) introduces the novel social forestry for strengthening the traditional forestry sector. It gives a structured frame for analyzing the project implementation processes and the identification of the various responsibilities.

Volume XIV (1992). The Environmental Audit Framework gives an introduction of the environmental status, and places the environmental audit in the context of the overall audit practice. General guidelines for environmental audit are preceding a framework of detailed guidelines with examples for all sectors.

Volume XV (1993) gives an overview of the contributors to Rural Development and how to measure their performance. This gives the basis for analysis of the overall development in terms of environmental, geographic, economic and social sustainability, and the replicability of the interventions. The study deals i.a. with the health and nutritional status, adult education, cottage industries, agri-business, construction, manufacturing, marketing, miscellaneous trades, banking and tourism.
